Accounting Manager/Supervisor



• Maintenance of payroll accounting records and performance of all related accounting and control functions. o G/L account setup and maintenance related to payroll. o Development and implementation of G/L accounting and reporting changes related to payroll. o Responsible for payroll related G/L uploads and ensuring the operational effectiveness of the system. o Oversee preparation of daily entries, monitoring of accounts, and maintenance of account balances. o Ensure timely and accurate funding and accounting for payroll. o Ensure reconciliation and resolution of outages from accounts. o Ensure completion and accuracy of all payroll account reconciliations including resolution of outstanding items in accordance with aging guidelines. o Oversight responsibility for the payment of premiums for the benefit insurance coverage. o Monitor direct tax remittances and filing as well as those done by outside payroll service provider. o Participate in the annual W-2 processing, reconciling, verification and mailing process with the payroll outsource vendor. • Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures. o Ensure that accounting policies are developed, maintained and applied in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. o Analyze and direct the implementation of new accounting standards and rules. • Performance and oversight of complex special projects related to payroll process and payroll accounting. o Identify opportunities to improve the payroll accounting processes and plays a key role in the integration of a new payroll, staffing and accounting system. • Develop and maintain appropriate business relationships with internal and external customers. • Manage department resources and budget. o Manage the staffing, performance plans and salary administration for the department employees. o Allocate and review work, provide training, work with staff to set and achieve objectives, and guide and advises subordinate for individual development. • Oversee the preparation of various complex payroll process and reports. o Assist examiners in carrying out examinations (Audit, Government, etc.). o Participate in the preparation of financial data for external surveys. o Develop metric / scorecard reporting for senior leadership review. • Respond to inquiries from management, auditors and other authorities regarding payroll accounting issues, all payroll related data in reports and financial statements issued, and payroll related policies and procedures.

Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. CPA strongly desired. • Minimum of 7 years experience in accounting with 3 years of that time dedicated to payroll administration and accounting and 2+ years in Big 4 public accounting. • Supervisory experience required. • Proficient in advanced spreadsheet applications such as Excel, Microsoft Word, etc. • Demonstrate ability to learn and understand mainframe systems such as Mobius, Raft, and Vector. • Excellent communication, organization and follow up skills. • Excellent people/relationship building skills.
