Technical Accounting Manager



Our client is a top 100 company to work for. They are presently seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Manager to join their organization. If you are hired for this Technical Accounting Manager position you will be responsible for: reviewing merger, acquisition, and divestiture transactions; identify accounting issues and provide advice for these; leading implementation efforts for new accounting standards, participating in review of proposed standards and drafting of standard summaries; interfacing with various internal and external auditors on a daily basis; serve as a resource to the company in researching existing accounting literature to ensure its appropriate application to specific transactions and business situations; prepare comment letters delineating the company's positions on proposal-state accounting pronouncements and literature; analyzes and summarizes new and proposed accounting pronouncements to determine potential effects; coordinates the implementation of new accounting standards and pronouncements; provide accounting due diligence support for M&A and divestitures including contract and economic model review; prepare internal management summary updates on current accounting issues: and other special projects as necessary. Experience: Our client is a Fortune 500 company located in Metro Detroit. For consideration candidates must have 6 + years accounting experience including: worked for a larger public accounting firm, strong experience in preparing/reviewing of SEC documents, worked as an external or internal auditor, possess 2 + years accounting research experience, and have excellent presentation and communication experience. This position requires a bachelor's degree or higher (MBA preferred) in accounting/finance with a CPA designation.
